Blue Ribbon Fugu

Blue Ribbon Fugu, originally uploaded by Telzey.
Haven't been feeling very creative lately due to a Christmas cold (Yuk!) -- but a Fugu sign shot by PAVDW on Flickr brought me 'round long enough to play.

Here, Betty Anne proudly displays her award winning blowfish, Goliath.

Only one texture was used on this, but I had a lot of fun hand-coloring the model for a vintage feel.

Happy New Year, my friends!

contemplation

contemplation, originally uploaded by Telzey.

This was shot at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA. It was a cloudy day and although the clouds were reflected in the pool, most of them were hazy. I used only two of my new textures: Atlantis and Nile Basin

A chicken and the egg type of riddle for the hopelessly mystified.

Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem, originally uploaded by Telzey.

Sometimes you just have to wait until the timing is right. I found this dancer a couple of years ago, but I didn't know what to do with her. Several weeks ago, I created the face of the sundial. Then it was just a matter of getting the right elements together -- all of which were in my files. Since the dancer is hand-colored, the number of layers is deceptively large.

Frank

Originally uploaded by Telzey

"Frank" was created for a challenge on Flickr's Textures for Layers group. The original house image was donated by Nesster.

For me, the challenge always comes down to thinking outside the box. Here I chose a Norman Rockwell look -- with attitude.

Frank, a graphic artist, lovingly paints the details onto the house ... but where does his canvas begin, or end?
